Greetings

September 26, 2007

This shall be my first post after about a week and a half being in Nottingham. How are things here, you ask? Well, I say it’s great! The campus is simply lovely. For the past week I’ve been busy dealing with my house, doing chores and trying so hard to make it look, smell and sound so much like home, just like the houses of the seniors I’ve recently been to around here. Meet my housemates; Fidz and Zai. If there was one thing I have overlooked when I decided to go to Nottingham, it has got to be the number of guys around here. So tiny. I noticed that, in most cases, the houses occupied by Bruneians here have the ratio of one guy to three or four girls. I heard there are around 30-50 Bruneians in Nottingham. Do your maths and you’ll see roughly just how small our number is. And from what I heard, we didn’t even have enough players to play football last year. Pfft =/

It’s been hectic for the past three days this week because of all the department and school introduction to the courses, tutors and all that. Plus, there is this Freshers’ Fayre going on at the other side of the University which ends today and they’re giving away lots and lots of freebies. There are so many of societies as well and they are all seem fun. Lectures start from tomorrow although this week is still considered as like an orientation or sort of. We will start to follow the full timetable starting from Monday next week.

As for me, I’m typing all these letters and words straight from the university library just adjacent to my school and I will be back soon with more posts. I’m still waiting for the internet guy to come round the house to set up our internet connection and TV in the house. It’s been a week and I hope it’ll be ready by the end of this week. And this is one of the few things to look forward to this weekend. My girlfriend is coming over to Nottingham this weekend too and I just can’t wait to see her =)

Later.

There is a big possibility that I will be moving my not-so-daily blog to a new host pretty soon but I’m trying to keep it low for the time being. It’s been my intention to do this for years now but I finally get my chance. Besides that, I’m in the process in reviving my old blog at Blogger.com, which is still heavily under construction. I’m getting pretty rusty at web-designing now after not doing it for quite awhile.

I want an iPhone and I want that Black 80GB iPod Classic! These are my wish list for the last quarter of 2007 and I just need to wait. Apparently, a hack for iPhone has been recently released that should disable the AT&T SIM restriction on the gadget. Which means that any SIM card will work on it. Well, not ‘any’ to be exact, but GSM will do. The paper today had an advertisement about pre-booking the unlocked iPhone on the front page. Coolies, I just wish I had money.

I will be leaving to UK again this coming Friday the 14th. Tomorrow is the new-moon-sighting activity in which a positive upshot means that I’ll be fasting at home for three days, for the first time in two years. Predictions, however, the start of Ramadhan is gonna fall on Thursday. Well, we’ll see about that. But one thing before I forget, please allow me to apologize for all my wrongs and for the times if I ever offended anybody’s feelings by my words, actions and whatnot. Having to reason “making mistakes for being just a human” is a lame excuse to me. But then again, I can’t deny the truth behind it.

Watch out for this space for updates tomorrow, insya Allah.

I need to start packing, later.
