White-Rabbit
“White Rabbit”

This is my entry for this month’s NAC (Nagfa Ambigram Challenge) December 2007 edition. The phrase is “White Rabbit”. You can find more about NAC through this link.

Nobody said it was easy…

I’d like to wish the very best of luck to my friends that are going through Oxford interviews starting from tomorrow morning, and especially to my girlfriend =) She’s in Keble college right now, feeling somehow a little less nervous.

I just got on the phone with her about an hour ago and told me how it’s like over there. I still remember how it was like when I did mine about a year ago. I had to do three interviews and to be honest, they weren’t that scary as what you might’ve imagined at all. It’s not like you’re going to sit at one end of a room and a panel of interviewers sitting on the other side - but more like a small evening-tea discussions where you sit on a comfy sofa along with two friendly tutors to interview you beside a fireplace - sort of like that. Although unfortunately I wasn’t good enough to get in.

Oh well, at least I’m happy where I am right now.

I bought a new pair of astro turf shoes yesterday. “Adidas Predator Absolado Powerserve”, they call it. Such a long name, lol. It looks great! Gonna wear it for the Winter Games next week. Oh, and my dad gave me a pair of shoes the other day. He bought it in York, supposed to be his but he insisted me to have it instead since it fits on me. Thanks, dad.

Of all the joy on looking forward to the events coming up from next week has resulted me being distracted! I need to revise for my tests - Maths tomorrow and Electronics on Tuesday. Not to mention that I need to start packing as well as I won’t be back to Nottingham until after Boxing Day.

Oh well, I got to go.

Laters!

Ambigram: Incubus - Dig

December 9, 2007

Incubus - Dig
Dig is one of the songs in the Light Grenades album by Incubus and this song is awesome!

The top “DIG” is a rotational ambigram and the bottom one is a reflection “DIG”. I’m just trying out something new. The CU-B formula for the middle “Incubus” ambigram is kinda awkward though, should’ve spent a little more time with it.

Bruised

December 7, 2007

It’s just a week away before my semester break starts and one of the first few things to look forward to is the BSU Winter Games in London on the 15th December. I will be representing BruNotts for the 5-A-Side football tournament if I could recover my badly sprained right-foot ankle within a week’s time. I sprained it last Wednesday during training and I thought it was pretty bad because I heard cracks as I twisted it before falling to the floor in agony. I could still walk, although limped my way back home.

It got worst later at night when the pain and bruises kicked in. And when I woke up the next morning, I could hardly stand on both feet! I had to hop around using only my left foot and getting down the stairs from the second attic floor was quite an effort. From that point, it got me thinking of how I wish I had Claire Bennet’s cell regeneration ability lol.

But my recovery has been pretty swift for the past 36 hours after the injury. I could now walk at normal pace only feeling a little pain and discomfort. I’m just hoping that I’ll recover fully just in time to play the tournament next week. I guess being positive helps the healing process, no?

I am a busy man. I’m in charge with the new BruNotts website, which will be officially launched in the next few days. The BruNotts new forums are also under my responsibility. It’s been up for three weeks now and we have made more than 1000 articles to date. That’s not bad at all, is it?

Anyway, I can’t wait for my trip to Venice in about 10 days time. That will be the second European country I have visited after.. uhm.. Amsterdam. That trip was rather nice - I cruised on a big ferry/ship. Saw a lot of “green herbs”, “green” cookies and “green” lollypops. Red Light District, indeed. I was just standing just outside this souvenir shop of this street when this guy approached me, offering ecstasy pills. I was like, “Huh? What the hell?”. I went away and stood somewhere else only to find a better view that these guys are working in a group but at different locations. Sometimes they would regroup and went to the back-alleys and then popped out again. Scary, I must say.

My family will be arriving back here to Nottingham from Newcastle in a few hours or minutes. I’m not quite up-t0-date of their current whereabouts since they got themselves a car - a black Chrysler 7-seater van with black tinted windows, feels like VIP eh? They’re going again to Leeds tomorrow to attend my sister’s graduation on Monday before heading off to London and flying off back to Brunei on Wednesday. It’s good having them here hehe I get to refill my food stocks =p

Whoa! That’s long. Alright, until here for now.

Signing out.
