Browser, Surfer

I have always been using Safari as my default web browser. It’s really great, simple yet powerful in many ways. One of my favourite feature on that browser is the built-in dictionary where I can just lookup the meaning or thesaurus of the highlighted words straightaway! Another great one is the find feature. Whenever I need to find specific word on a site heavy with texts, the whole page is dimmed, leaving that particular word completely naked. These two features are wicked!

I’ve installed Firefox 3.0 awhile ago since its first day of release but never got the chance to actually use it to compare with. So right now I’m putting this as my default browser and see what it’s got to offer me. The first thing I noticed is the new bookmark tagging system. Simply to say that I can tag my bookmarks so I can just type a short form tag to bring up certain address URLs. For example, I can just type “wp” on the address bar and it will give me a link to tagged WordPress.com. It’s very convenient for me since I prefer typing over clicking.

Other than this, is the usual suspect; add-ons. This feature has been around since the first generation of Firefox, so it’s no surprise. Add-ons extends Firefox which allows you to personalize your browsing experience. At least that is what they’re claiming. With this, you can install new themes, plugins, language supports and many more.

This is all I can wrap up for now. I will come back in about a week or two with a verdict of which will be my browser of choice.
